Elvis : Photographs & Memories is yet another Elvis photo book by JAT Productions that is highly recommended.
'A picture is worth a thousand words' - exactly what is involved in this new work by 'Joseph A'. In his first two volumes, 'Elvis Sessions' and 'Elvis Sessions II', Joseph included photographs with acute attention to movement and expression, and now with sincerity of purpose, through Joseph, a special, unusual life is re-lived in a special, unusual way. knowing
Elvis, as i did, special thoughts come to me with each image. if I were present when Elvis was photographed, I know what was going on with him; if I were not present, studiying his expression -- especially, his facial expression -- spurs mental images -- racks of possibilities of what was in his area at the time.
You see, Elvis was true to whatever he did -- good or bad, advised or unadvised, planned or not planned, promted or impromptu. Some of the time Elvis didn't even register in himself that he thought of others first, but in his hearts mind he did just that. Those of us who worked so closely with him saw many a time when he judged that he could have and should have 'just said something', but it was not his spirit to interfere with or to invade someone else's area even when needed, and even when it would have been accepted and apriciated by those around him. When a person fails to nuture himself, respect himself -- yes, even to protect himself, through, purposefully well intended -- ultimately, we who are near him hurt as much as we joy when sharing his presence.
If you knew Elvis, you will know exactly what I mean when you study these photos and read the memories in these pages; but if you don't know him, experience from the images of Elvis -- posed or not -- the man that he is, the thoughts that he has, the places he has been, and ask yourself, 'What difference would there have been had I, actually, been there?'
SEE - READ - ENJOY!
Thank you, Joseph.
