The new book 'Elvis On Tour 1970 Vol. 2' is without a doubt THE very best book ever on this important part of Elvis' seventies career. 1970 was the year when the Elvis Road Show hit 'the road' again, and this wonderful book gives details about the second half of that year. Combined with Volume 1, this is a must-have set for every Seventies-junkie. And we're not the only ones to praise the book, see below for more:
This is a hardcover book and a comprehensive review of the September tour of 1970 and Elvis' three day stint at the Houston Astrodome. With 170 pages, many new and unpublished photographs, and new fan stories. Important to note; this book is strictly limited to 500 copies.
And we're not the only ones to praise the book that way, here are a few other comments:
wow awesome ... My copy arrived yesterday and it looks to be as detailed and lovingly put-together as the previous ones in the series ...
I haven't even started reading it yet, and just flicking through the pages I can tell it's yet another quality effort. I will be thoroughly enjoying reading this book all this week.
Among other surprises in its 140 pages is a section on Elvis in San Diego in 1956 (April and June), including his set lists (!), and lots of 1970 color concert photos I've not seen before.
If you want to know what Elvis was up to on stage in November 1970, this is the place to find out.
Kieran Davis, I tip my cap to you.
Another great piece of work documenting the whirlwind that was Elvis on tour in November 1970.
What I particularly like about Kieran's look at the Nov 1970 tour is the FACT that a lot of shows were 'downright weird behaviour' like in Portland all the talking + throwing of water, .false starts to songs etc ... in Seattle missing out a usual Key song (Sus Minds) and a shorter performance.
It s a book that is hard to put down.
Elvis on tour November 1970 will keep me happy until at least Christmas 2014.
